Black Mountain Excavation (BME) was founded in 2020 by Dalston Zimmerman with a simple vision: build an excavation company where employees are valued, clients are treated as long-term partners, and every project is completed with integrity, accountability, and pride.

Since then BME has become one of Colorado's fastest-growing heavy civil and site development contractors, earning the trust of owners, developers, EPC firms, and general contractors on some of the region's most demanding commercial and infrastructure projects. Under Dalston's leadership the company has expanded into multiple states while keeping the hands-on approach and responsiveness clients expect.

Unlike many company owners, Dalston stays involved in day-to-day operations, working alongside project teams, supporting field crews, and making sure every project meets BME's standards for safety, quality, and performance.
