Project Overview
The South Cheyenne Solar project, located in Wyoming, is set to make a significant impact on the state's renewable energy landscape. Spanning 940 acres, the solar farm is designed to generate 150 MW of clean energy, contributing to the growing demand for sustainable power. Upon completion in the spring of 2024, this solar farm will provide energy to thousands of homes and businesses in the region.
Scope of Work
Black Mountain Excavation was tasked with preparing the vast 940-acre site for solar panel installation. This involved moving a total of 722,000 yards of earth to create a smooth, level foundation for the solar infrastructure. Our team used advanced equipment and techniques to ensure precision and efficiency in grading, allowing for a solid foundation for the panels and other solar components.
Challenges & Solutions
One of the key challenges in this project was working with a large-scale site that required extensive earth-moving. Our team leveraged our expertise and specialized machinery to complete the task quickly and safely, despite the expansive area. Additionally, ensuring that the site was graded to the correct specifications for optimal panel installation required a high level of attention to detail, which was achieved through our robust planning and execution process.
Timeline & Budget
The project was completed on schedule and within the $6.2 million budget. Our efficient project management and execution ensured that we met all deadlines while maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety. We are proud of our ability to deliver complex projects like South Cheyenne Solar with both precision and reliability.
Impact & Future
Upon completion, the South Cheyenne Solar project will provide a sustainable energy source for thousands of homes and businesses, playing a pivotal role in Wyoming’s energy future. This project demonstrates Black Mountain Excavation’s ability to manage large-scale projects with exceptional attention to detail and efficiency, ensuring that renewable energy infrastructure can be built to meet the needs of today and the future.
